About Lily

Lily and Tallulah

In the Beginning…

After a mysterious and disturbing illness in the early 1990’s that challenged me for well over a year and for which western, allopathic medicine had no answers, I decided to take matters into my own hands and carefully and exhaustively researched the literature and interviewed scores of professionals in the various fields of holistic/”alternative” health. The practitioners I met with included (but were not limited to) holistic western as well as oriental medical doctors and osteopaths, chiropractors, herbalists (including a session with the late Hanna Kroeger), homeopaths, iridologists, nutritionists, and body workers of all kinds, to name a few. I even met with a practitioner of Tibetan medicine who had worked with the Dalai Lama! I developed a true passion for learning about natural, holistic, pharmaceutical-free ways of healing and remaining healthy.

Education and Certifications

I healed, and more than two decades later, with much of my energy, time and money spent on research in the fields of holistic health, nutrition and lifestyle, I decided to formalize my education, and two years ago started trainings which culminated in my attaining certifications from the Nutritional Therapy Association as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner; from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a Certified Health Coach, and from GAPS developer Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD, MMedSci (neurology), MMedSci (nutrition), as a Certified GAPS Practitioner.

Professional Associations
I am proud to be a member of the following associations:
Go With Your Gut Health – the Company

I am now the founder and CEO of Go With Your Gut Health LLC, where we seek to educate clients about digestive health and how it affects all aspects of one’s physical as well as mental wellbeing. We also recognize that stress levels and emotional discontent play a great role in overall health, and strive to address these factors as well. Go With Your Gut Health specializes in autoimmune conditions, virtually all of which begin in the gut. I have become convinced that all of the chronic, debilitating conditions/diseases that we “modern” humans have fallen prey to are the end-stages of gut problems, often begun at birth and exacerbated throughout life with greater and greater levels of inflammation manifesting with each new insult. I am here to explain to you how this process happens.

I enjoy working with clients in person as well as over the phone or through Skype. Having been a stage actress (with some film and commercial on-camera work as well) and a voice over artist for over 20 years, I am no stranger to speaking in front of large and small audiences, and am often asked to give talks to those interested in the subject of gut wellbeing and its enormous health implications. I will be starting up a corporate wellness business in the next year.

Other Projects – Lila’s Garden

I am also a part of a new company called Lila’s Garden, which hydroponically grows micro greens indoors from organic seeds, in urban settings without the use of pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. Lila’s Garden is looking to systematically expand, city by city, not only bringing the gift of incredibly nutrient dense, health promoting greens to the towns and cities near you, but offering the promise of jobs in urban centers, specifically in areas that have been under-utilized up until now. This new paradigm of truly locally grown greens, distributed locally, is the way of the future.

Daily Life

I live in the beautiful hills of western North Carolina, on two acres of land, with my three dogs and two cats, near a town called Asheville. In addition to helping clients find their way back to health and constantly adding to my nutritional knowledge, I enjoy hiking with my dogs, sailing (I race a J80 sailboat on the week-ends), cooking, spending time with loved ones, and traveling, both on this continent and abroad.

I Want to Help You

I have a passion for research in general, and specifically for holistic/healing nutrition, lifestyles and products, and yes…I have tried, tasted, lusted after and often bought all of the things I propose to bring to your attention on this website in the weeks and months to come. I’ll tell you what works, what doesn’t, and what should never darken your door.

My goal is to help change the paradigm that we, of the “modern” western world, find ourselves mired in; that is, the sickness and disease paradigm of harsh, generally cut-and-burn intervention after symptoms of malfunction or disease become obvious.

You CAN heal.

You CAN remain healthy and lead a happy, productive life.

Take charge of your own health! Learn about the real underpinnings of vibrant health. I am here to help. Hippocrates (460-370 BC), called the father of modern medicine (and a personal hero of mine) had it right: “All diseases begin in the gut”. I encourage you to go with yours in all things.
